Beginner's Diary - Vol 2 (Getting To Know Yourself)

Dear Diary !! Oh how much I have missed you !! How long it has been since I pour my heart out to you ?? Well everything aside I am so glad to be talking to you again ,Oh yes I am . Well over the time I was away ,I was actually up to something. I was just Google-ing  searching for stuff. Yes you got me , about makeup but its such a basic thing ,I can't go further without it ! I was searching what? Well about my skin :) Yup you got that right buddy and I am going to share every thing today with you .I stood in front of mirror for hours (no I am not self obsessed :-| I had had to do it )   and if you do it ,actually I encourage you to do it ,you'll know your self much much better and that my dear, will reflect in the makeup you do and cosmetics you buy . You as me How? Well knowing your self, your skin, your tone, your requirements will help you pick the right product ! So buckle up and listen everything veeeeeeeeeerrry carefully ,I ain't gonna repeat !

What's my skin type :
I am Oily/Combination type . How did I get to know that you ask ? Well simple as that ,wear no makeup and observe your skin . How is it ? well mine turns out to be pretty much oily on the T-zone ( Forehead & Nose) and a little on the chin .Which turns out to be pretty dry on the cheeks (if washed with soap or anything harsh) so I got to know I have oily/combination skin. Dry skin ? well if you dont have oiliness then you have either normal or dry skin . Well normal skin lies between dry skin if that makes sense :-/

What's My Skin Tone:
Knowing skin tone is pretty tricky I tell you. What I learnt I applied on me . This is what you have to do

  • Stand infront of your bathroom mirror(preferably bathroom should be white with good lighting).Wrap up your self with a white towel so that your neck and shoulders stay bare. Wrap up your hair and look straight ahead at yourself (contemplate and compliment your beauty for a while :D) . Now what shade do you see in you skin? If you see a greenish/yellowish hue you are WARM toned and if you seem like blue/pink skined you are COOL toned

  • A quick way to do this is just look at the veins on the inner side of your wrist . If they appear GREEN,you are WARM toned and if they appear BLUE you have COOL skin tone

so this comes down to this
-----> Green/Yellow = WARM TONE
-----> Blue/Pink   = COOL TONE

then there is further subdivision whether you are pink pr olive and stuff ... well lets make it easy again

Sub Tones :
Warm - Olive/ Yellow
Cool - Pink/ Golden

this depends on how good are you at discerning the colors . Mostly Asian skin tones are warm and olive but I said MOSTLY . you can be COOL and Asian at the same time so no worries okay ?

Now , here comes a confession ! I have been using wrong foundation shade all my life :( YES !! I am warm toned with a tint of yellow and I was using natural Ivory all this time which is actually for COOL skin tone. No wonder I look so ashen and ghastly pale in all those picture which I tend to blame on the  camera flash up till now !! This happens when you don;t know your skin tone and go get a foundation for your self ! I repeat again KNOW YOUR SELF !! This will help you buy wisely and you won't have regrets afterwards.

Now skin type and skin tone done , lets get to face shape ! Here are a few pictures that I found that would help you knowing your face shape

Face Shapes

Now how this turns out to be helpful ? Well the thing is every face shape has its own perks. You need to do everything a tad bit different with each face shape like where to apply blush and how to contour , where to highlight to get that lift you always wanted .Here is a picture to give you an idea. I'll discuss it later on when we'll talk about doing makeup like the basic stuff not something pro or anything.

Blush,Bronzer & Highlighter-According to face shape
So, my dearest of ,keeper of my secrets I have spilled everything I learnt . I hope you get to know things before you go on cosmetic hunt and return all victorious, because I have learned it the hard way .

Time to go sweets , need to do stuff ,need to arrange stuff , need to write stuff, and need to stuff stuff :D .

P.s Billu (my cat 1 of the 4 ) Says Hi to you ! He even signed the page so that  you might not think he doesn't love you. BTW sometimes he gets all that cry baby and doesn't let me write to you. I am working on it , Making him a real MAN  CAT !

Till next time buddy !
Regards

Moods Photography | Photographer's Review

Hello everyone! I hope you guys are doing well and enjoying your fasts especially the dishes in aftar time.Well to be honest I very much enjoy Ramzan , where you can stay home all day and have fun with your siblings :) But not to forget I have a blog to write and what is more fun then having a blog series where you have to explore new art and artists of Pakistan ( I seriously love facebook for this) . This week I Bring you Moods Photography .Lets have a look at their work and then the details :)

About Moods Photography:

Behind the lens person – a short intro. Abdul Moeed, just an individual like everyone else, talking about photography, I would say self-taught, Zodiac – Virgo.
Style I follow: I do whatever my heart says me to do, it’s just an idea or a concept, which people can relate somehow.
Fancy lenses, expensive equipment, I don’t believe in this, what makes you a good photographer is the artist within you.
Moods Photography is all about moments, happiness, memories to be remember. A creative way of seeing and capturing photographs.
Services we provide: Weddings, Casual Shoots, Outdoor Sessions, Fashion Assignments, Fine art portraits, Cinematic Videography.
We currently have more than 7-8 different packages ( casual shoots to complete wedding ) starting from as low as 10,000 to 200,000.
Coverage: We were covering islamabad/rawalpindi only but then we got some shoots for different cities from Pakistan. So yeah mostly covering major cities of Pakistan now.

So, This was all about moods photography from behind the lens genius Abdul Moeed. Apart from the basic intro and info he has provided, let me share my thoughts about his work as well. I have personally seen his work and guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrllll what talent this guy has . To be honest I am really really impressed! Well the most pictures I have put up are from his facebook page ,and have kind of effects thrown all over (that look too good) But the pictures he provides to his clients are totally original and with life like colors. So don't think you'll get all bokeh-ed and sepia pictures that your Nani and Dadi won't like :D. I wish there were wedding teasers on his page because those are so so beautiful ,just like a fairy tale come true . Its just perfect in every way . You have someone having an event and looking for a good and reasonable photographer, go ahead and give this guy a go . I promise you won't regret it even for a sec !!

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter - Review & Look

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter
Hello Everyone ! How is Ramzan going at your end ? Rains are making it much better isn't it ? I have been away for a few days (nothing special just a new surge of laziness). So now when I am up ,First thing I wanted to do was a blog post . Today I am reviewing MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter. When this range came out some 2 years back , this little baby was a total success out of the bunch ! It got some really good reviews and so it made to my wish list . I have been looking for it since then ,and finally i got my hands on it (FINALLY !) . So lets get to the review shall we girls ?

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter

About MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter:

"Lightweight baked powder that transforms your complexion with luminescence shimmer"

Weight : 7.5 grams

Price: £3.00 ( PKR 600 Approx.)

My Thoughts:

As I have already mentioned that I had this product on my wish list since and having it in my hands was a treat ! I wasted no time in trying it out and I never looked back :D. The product comes in a basic white packaging that is the theme of Undress Your Skin range by MUA with a clear plastic lid. This is baked highlighter with a swirl pattern which I absolutely love ( Reminds me of some Pretty MAC stuff) . The highlighter is of a little champagne color with pink undertones. I  use it on the cheek bones ,under the eye brow and on the bridge of the nose and it just lifts the whole look. I also use it on the inner corner of my eyes and it works perfect there too. Staying power is really good .It stays put for a good 3-4 hours without primer and much much longer with primer underneath ! Only thing I don't like about this highlighter is the Frosty look it gives and accentuates the pores a little (not much, just a little). It doesn't look good if you try to highlight above your brows or forehead but works nice on the cupid's bow. Initially, the highlighter just appears as a streak but blends up well and when you spray a makeup setting spray everything just blends perfectly giving such a lovely glow . I am simply loving this highlighter these days .

Sanaa Khan Photography - Photographer's review

Ramazan Mubarik to all my Muslim brothers and sisters around the globe ! Busy much aren't we all? Well I have been busy ,doing stuff mainly keeping myself from getting dehydrated and planning a good diet so that my weight doesn't go on a loose :P (perks of one trying to loose weight all year long  :D). I have been away from the blog for few days not being able to adjust in new routine. But now its all sorted out so lets start blogging ( & you guys reading)

Its Photographer's  review time !! Well woman entrepreneurship has been going up these days MashAllah. Women being independent and working in every field of life has brought a drastic change in the total outlook of every field . Photography being considered a male profession once is now also being taken by women (young girls mostly ) and they are in no way behind men , in fact some are so good you'll forget all others !

Today I have Sanaa Khan Photography as the review post. As usual pictures first , details later !

Weddings:

Birthdays:

Events:

About Sanaa Khan Photography:

"We're based in Islamabad but provide services all across Pakistan. We'll be expanding internationally as well by 2015 in'sha ALLAH.Our main strength is wedding photography but we cover events such as, corporate parties, birthday functions, award ceremonies, inauguration, exhibitions.

Being on facebook almost 24/7 has its own perks. I have found so many talented photographers in Pakistan who are doing amazing jobs. Sanaa Khan Photography is new name in the field yet very very talented. Each of the shot is very well balanced and colors are so vibrant that one enjoys the watching pictures (of strangers :P) and that's the point the pictures are MESMERIZING ! . Moreover the price range is super amazing ,a total thumbs up. Another plus is coverage all over PAKISTAN ....good news for everyone (especially me :D) .You or anyone you know is getting married/having a birthdays party/ Corporate Event/ College event ,should definitely check out her work .
