Bioderma Bloggers Meet & Greet Lahore Chapter -Bringing together Nature and Beauty !

Did I hear someone huffing and puffing and rolling eyes saying another event report that too as the first of the year? Oh man I feel you , it might get boring and monotonous at times but hey you all gotta know what happens at the meet ups ya know ! Cuz I luvh ya YO !

Seriously the reason behind the event reports and meet up round ups is just to let you guys know what is going around and what brands are coming up with such activities and letting us experience their products first hand so we can give our opinions and let you guys know what's worth your money. Plus over that it sort of documents and saves the date as a memory for me so I try to put up as many pictures as I can you that you guys can go on a visual ride with me . 

Being said all of the above , on 17th December,2016 an exclusive bloggers meet and greet session was organized by Bioderma Pakistan and Fourth Arc at the Royal Palm Country & Golf Club, Lahore.

The conference hall was beautifully decorated with all things apt for the event , even the center pieces were cotton balls and mini Bioderma bottles for each blogger to try and test. It was really nice how they had managed to bring all the beauty bloggers from Lahore together under one roof and giving them opportunity to mingle and get to know each other closely.

Later on , the Marketing  head of Bioderma Ms.Beenish Pervaiz and brand manager Mr. Siddiq Banway welcomed  us all and gave a brief introduction to Bioderma and especially the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellere Solution, the science behind the concept of Miceller water and also what made it a product that was raved equally world wide

 It was a very informative and interactive session, where we had put forward our concerns regarding a good cleanser and Makeup remover and had a quite healthy discussion over the topic.

 After the discussion, we were given the Bioderma Sensibio H2O micellaire solution to try and test first hand. It was a really nice experience to use the product at the spot and put forward your experience with the team. This ensures that the people behind the brand know what actually is the opinion generally ans they can rectify the product or satisfy us at the spot. Though the first impression is really good, I would be taking my sweet time to put forward a final Verdict.

Later on we were served with a scrumptious high tea and a of course a goodie bag to take with us and try and test the product for the our readers.

Tale of 3-day Fashion Extravaganza called Hum Bridal Couture Week 2016

I have been trying to be regular in my posting and have been true to my vows for the a couple of weeks now but then i Haven't posted on the weekend and my instagram feed looks like a monotonous amalgam of ramp videos. Thanks to my utterly disappointing phone camera, they don't look good. The thing is, I have been busy in the ongoing Bridal Couture Week by Hum TV and man hats off to the people who got o fashion weeks regularly ! How do you guys keep up with all the craziness there ?? And those time delays ? Please don't ask how I was kicking myself for being an hour late and the show started 3 hours after the due time ? Nope not talking about it -__- 

So while being there and witnessing everything , Here is my take on the three days . No this is not a regular HITS & MISSES post , Just random stuff that went on there , few of the pieces that actually caught my eye , with no picture of myself (Shame on me !) and just my ramblings as usual . So LETS GO !

RED CARPET :

Red Crapet is one place for which everyone dresses to impress . You can see some major style statements going on the red carpet at every event and some make you look at the mirror and kick your own but for being not that skinny (CONFESSION) . So while I was really really looking forward to some divas showing up those statement cuts and colors with those jewelry pieces that make you wanna throw your Shadi ka Zewar and buy them , I saw none :( I am serious , I don't know if I just missed it or people are now just fed up of dressing up for the Last Fashion week of the year (that makes it 6th in the year , yup we have six fashion weeks in Pakistan , will talk about it later ) 

So nothing major went on the red carpet to be honest so i'll pass it 

DAY 1: 

There were around 8 designers exhibiting on day 1 (or 7 ?) and to be honest there was hardly anything memorable about them . I liked a few individual pieces from a few collections as they were absolutely stunning and I am posting them below . Please note that these choices are personally ,wholly ,solely my own , I have nothing against anyone and of course you don't have to agree either . Just putting out a disclaimer before anyone takes my words to heart and start bombarding me with death threats :D

These 2 particular pieces from Zonia Anwar's showcase caught my eye majorly because of the color combinations . I absolutely love the timeless combination of black and gold and with the incorporation of black velvet the feel was absolutely regal !

The Bottle Green velvet shawl in the second one has the most intricate and beautiful design and with the backdrop of a muted ivory it was a piece to remember . All the winter brides take notes ! Do add a velvet shawl with your bridal dress to just amp that OOMPH and make it look regal to the next level . 

Iman Ali for Ivy Couture

Rest of the collections went a bit meeh for me BUT did you know Iman Ali walked for Ivy Couture ! The said designers know how to make a Debut for sure . Whatever and how ever the collection was , Iman Ali's presence worked like a charm.

Day 2:

Day 2 had some well known names int he line up and it gave us hope that the showcase is going to be much much better this time and yes it was !

The Shawls incorporated by Anees Malik in his Bridal designs was remarkable . I fell in love with all those beautiful shawls and their hues that made them perfect to be worn with the bridal wear and even pairing them up with a monochrome dress would just make a statement . Definitely one of those pieces that you would want to have in your wardrobe to perk up those winter wedding without freezing to the core !

Chinyere

Chinyere gave us a diverse color palette ranging from some typical colors to some multi colored Mehndi appropriate attires. I am a sucker for those multicolored gold printed lehngas and found a perfect blue in the collection . Over all I was left quite impressed by the whole collection 

Day 3 :

Day 3 had been the most happening one of all ranging from some amazing designs , major celebrity appearances ,long delays and yes some power packed performances , Oh and that Finale was AH-MA-ZING ! No literally ,I was absolutely in love with the whole concept and the bunch load of Showstoppers . Amir Adnan definitely knows how to make a Finale GRAND ! Since we are on it,Lets discuss the Finale first and then some of those pieces that I loved .

The Grand Finale started with some amazing waltz performance followed by celebrity couples showing some moves , among them were Mr & Mrs Moamar Rana , Redah Misbah & Shammal Qureshi , Mr & Mrs. Ahmed Ali Butt , Junaid Khan & Sara Mikaal , Mr & Mrs. Rehan Babar , Mehreen Raheel & Sarmad Sultan Khoosat , Tapu Javeri , Momal Sheikh & Agha Ali and many others . Loved watching them shaking some leg to those beats and giving those Finale feels . The instrumental of Wake Me Up - Avicii just just perfect to set the pace.

Ziggi Menswear

 Among the designers , Ziggi Menswear showcased an amazing collection in both Eastern and Western Formal wear for men . Though I had this feeling that the Sherwanis have somewhat similar look as HSY's ,but still the intricate work on them was beautiful . This particular Blue coat had my heart whole night and I loved how subtle gold looked on that navy blue giving those royal feels .















Among the Grand Couturiers, Elan stood out and showcased amazing designs both for men and women . However these particular designs carried by the duo Cybil Chaudry and Jahan e Khalid was beautiful . The impeccable work on Cybil's dress from the Palias Indocine collection has our heart ever since the showcase and I love how those peach and bottle green stands out on that steel grey

Grand Couturiers ft. Elan

The Dragon fly pattern on the Sherwani and matching draped shawl was a stunner . Though I normally despise the work on menswear but this one was something I would want on a man's dress if he wants it to be embellished. To be honest , I like the pattern too much that I might want it on my dress too ! I love dragon flies ^_^
The other pieces in Elan's collection were stunning as well , but the men's wear was beautiful in particular .

To be honest , there was a lot of repetition of patterns and colors . I was hoping to see some innovation but I guess when there are half a dozen of Fashion weeks happening in the same year and most of them showcasing bridal wear , its pretty hard for the designers to come up with something new . However , it was nice to see shalwars and ghararas make a come back this time and wearable cuts being used. Abandoning some weird cuts and using male models as a prop is a breath of fresh air and is much welcomed by everyone.

An Evening with the Rescued - Depilex Smile Again Foundation Animal Relief Benefit

Many times we come across such people in life that leave us awestruck and inspired.  Being a blogger, one has to attend many events related to fashion and beauty, but rare does arise the opportunity to attend  an event  that presents you the picture of real beauty of the people. Recently I have been lucky enough to attend a Collaborative event between Depilex Smile Again Foundation and Dr. Hamid Named DSF Animal Relief Benefit.

The basic idea behind the event was bringing the rescued souls by two amazing people together and give them a quality time to spend together. Okay before I launch into how amazing everything was, lets just get an over view of the event and then back to my personal thoughts (which are inevitable, of course)

The Event:

On 30th June, 2016 a Collaborative Aftaar was held by renowned philanthropist Masarrat Misbah and Dr. Hamid, who is a well-known veterinary doctor mainly known for his relief work done for Rescued animals.  As soon as I got the invitation, I was super  excited.  Over the year I have had a couple of interactions with Masarrat Misbah, and every time that lady has left me spell bound. Being a die hard Masarat ma'am's fan,  a strong supporter of the Depilex Smile Again Foundation and of course an avid animal lover, this evening was something I wouldn't miss in million years
The outdoor set up in none other than the beautiful Avari Hotel, Lahore was just perfect for the evening.

 Among the guests were people from Media,  friends and family but  it would not  be wrong to say that the guests of honor were the Acid victims who were treated at the Depilex Smile Again Foundation and also the Rescued animals by Dr. Hamid.

While talking to the gathering, Ma'am Masarat in all her grace was looking nothing less than a proud mother when she talked about the Acid Victims who were treated at the DSF. She explained how each of the victims was treated and taken care  of at the foundation. The reconstructive surgery of the acid victims is no  joke because sometimes the person needs up to 40 surgeries during the process. The moment of pride was when she told the gathering how many of the victim are now happily married, are bread earners for their families, some are lawyers and some are getting higher education. 

Explaining the purpose of the event, she told everyone that how every living being, be it a human or an animal deserves love for this the only language that everyone understands. Purpose of bringing together the rescued of two different foundations was nothing less than spectacular.  The acid victims were all smiles and full of joy while spending time with those dogs and parrots and cats, who responded back with equal fervor.   
When Dr. Hamid took the dais,  he explained how working with rescued animals brings joy and satisfaction in one's life because there is nothing more beautiful than saving a soul. Expressing his joy over the collaboration with Depilex Smile Again Foundation and Masarrat Misbah, he said that bringing together acid victims and these animals is a perfect idea to show everyone that how love heals the deepest of the scars.  

A little message was given by Dr. Moazam Tarrar, the reconstructive surgeon working with DSF over the span of years. Speaking from his experience, he said that after the surgery is done our main concern is the rehabilitation of the patients. Being an unfortunate society were social services are almost next to none, DSF stands tall like a Beacon of Hope for these acid victims. DSF being the only foundation working in Pakistan for the relief and rehabilitation of Acid Attack victims irrespective of caste, color and creed.

Listening to all these amazing people, I can say that some where there is something good happening around us. One thing that which is evident is that we lack a lot in promoting such practices among us. These firms and foundations need our help and support in every possible way, be it financial, emotional or moral. Being a blogger, I feel responsible to spread out the world, make it reach to the masses, let them know that there is still hope. Magnum Opens its Door to the Pleasure seekers of Lahore - Event Report

Long time , no see eh chap? But when we see ,make sure its over a good chocolate ice cream , yup I am that obsessed with ice cream . Whoever said I SCREAM , ICE CREAM was definitely someone I can relate too . Being said that , If you are following me on Instagram (which you should by the way , here is the link HERE) you would know not very long time back I got an invitation to the Launch of Magnum pleasure store in Lahore. Yes now you know why I have been talking about Ice Cream since the beginning . I know I am kindda late and all , but hey never too late for an event report with some yummy pictures (p.s those who are fasting please read further at your risk ! )

So I will be talking random if left unchecked , lets do some event round up , will take you through the whole evening , show you some beautiful pictures taken by yours truly ( Unless mentioned otherwise) and then we go back to our random ramblings. So lets GO !

Event Report : 

The Magnum Pleasure store launch was held on 30th May , Monday and the location was none other than Z-Block Market DHA , Lahore . The Magnum pleasure store is a 3 story building with a gorgeous interior and a Magnum studded wall the entrance( Where you can go pose with your own magnum and be the cool guy Yo! ). The event was organized by Talking Point PR and everything was nicely done.

The guests were initially served chilled chocolate drinks with some twist . The one I got was Belgian chocolate with mint and Lemon (Like what?) I am sorry but I am not much of an experimental type when it comes to chocolate ( ye Oldie Goldie) BUT people were enjoying the different flavors that were being served with some sweet ,salty and sour tinges so you better try one OK ?

 The host of the evening was none other than the gorgeous Hareem Farooq donning a beautiful off shoulder Dull gold Shehla Chatoor gown + jumpsuit hybrid ,which I absolutely loved ( I am gonna attach a lot of pictures of her BEWARE).

The event kicked off with a beautiful violin performance by a Gorgeous lady who was wearing a custom designed Nomi Ansari ensemble in chocolate brown color adding the perfect ambiance to the event. With some confetti thing and all , the magnum bar was finally opened and there was a juggling performance and serving the guests some special custom made drinks. Also there was this chocolate artist who was making portraits of the guests with pure Belgian Chocolate and trust me she was phenomenal .

Among the guests were some prominent names from the fashion and media industry . Zara perzada , Cybil choudary, Maheen Kardar , Umair Tabani , Mohsin Ali , Momina Sibtain , Yousaf fayaz , Xillehuma , Foha Raza , Murtaza Khan Babar , Hassan Abbas , Haya Bokhari and Zahra Naveed to name a few ( and me OF COURSE !)

After the opening of the bar , everyone was directed to the basement where the unveiling of four custom designed magnums by well know designers was done . Even though I fail to understand the logic of a life size stone studded Magnum bar being linked to the actual ice cream but it feels like the Fashion and Food are no longer a separate industries . With both industries working together , food in itself has become a luxury and fashion at the same time .

Finally, we got our custom Magnums at the bar. What I got was a vanilla base dipped in milk chocolate and topped with rice crisps , coconut and something minty tingly ( The topping was the pleasure makers own choice in my case , and I liked it ! )

What you have to do when you hit the Magnum Pleasure store ?

Here comes the much anticipated question . Well answer is go find it out LOL . Okay ,now on a serious note. You get an option of a vanilla or chocolate base , choice between three dippings that is  white ,milk and dark chocolate and can choose three different toppings to go over your own magnum bar which range from all safe like dried coconut and chocolate chips to all daring like Red chili flakes !  Moreover ,you can get a chocolate drink as well (remember I mentioned one in the beginning? Just like that). 

So, All in all it would definitely be a good experience if you have a sweet tooth that doesn't spare you the cravings . Just give into your cravings and go indulge in some pure Belgian chocolate yumminess , Get some kick ass photographs with that magnum studded wall and done forget those Designer magnums down stairs .

Marking a Mile stone , MM Makeup Turns ONE !! - Event Report

Makeup Industry in Pakistan has recently seen a massive boom with many brands popping up in the market . With many companies and individuals catering to the beauty needs of Pakistani women , it is not easy to launch a complete Pakistani brand and then be successful too !
Massarat Misbah is not a name unknown to anyone . being a pioneer in the beauty industry , a philanthropist and a makeup maestro , she has added another achievement in her list named as Massarat Misbah Makeup line .

MM Makeup was launched last year ( Read My event report HERE) , and has taken over the market with a huge success . its worth mentioning here that the modern Pakistani woman is highly quality conscious these days especially when it come to cosmetics and skin care . So, when MM makeup was launched , I, along with many others (I am sure you too ,who is reading this ) was skeptical of the ingredients , quality and the performance of the Makeup line . Well , not our fault though because, as makeup enthusiast would agree, we have been disappointed by many brands that claimed high and delivered none, The list includes some very well known Pakistani Brands as well . BUT , yes here stands a big fat but , this time it was not the case because MM Makeup surprised everyone . Its Silk Foundation being an instant hit was , and still is , raved among the Beauty gurus and bloggers alike at many forums .
The point of saying all of this above is that FINALLY we have a makeup brand that we can be proud of and call our own  and when you own something everything about it matters . So when this beloved brand completed its first year ,it was time to celebrate !

The ever gorgeous Misbah ladies were there with there warm smiles welcoming everyone. I got a super warm hug from Massarat Misbah ( I simply love that lady Okay ! ) at the entrance and was directed to scrumptious lunch to help myself . Present there were many well known faces from Digital and Print media, also present were many socialites. So basically it was a pretty star studded event and seriously, it deserved to be ( we are making history here baby !! ) . The ambiance and decor was on point. It was such a warm and lively event ,where everyone got together and ate to MM Makeup's success.

On the completion of their first year, makeup maestro Masarrat Misbah shared her delight and said  “I am very delighted to celebrate one year of MM Makeup and looking forward to see more years of success, with the love and support of our beloved customers.Every woman is born beautiful and has a right to look and feel gorgeous. A few strokes of the right makeup can make any face light up.”

While talking to Nighat Misbah , she questioned many of our questions that we usually et asked about on our social media . I am so glad I had this conversation with here where she shared some of here amazing tips and tricks to get the most out of the MM Makeup line . She also revealed that MM makeup is being used in all the Depilex Branches throughout the country . Also ,she talked about the many upcoming releases later in this year .According to her, the new launches include a complete highlight and contour palette, individual highlighters , new shade range in all Lipstick ranges and brow powders. I am glad to have this conversation with her because it came with so  many exciting revelations :D ( And I am sure this got you excited too ! )

We were also told that in this short time period , MM Makeup has set up its Kiosks at all major malls through out the country. Also all Major online web stores now carry MM Makeup and offer delivery nation wide.

We ,at the From the Other side of Mirror, extend our heartiest congratulations on completing their first year with all the success . We also wish them good luck for their upcoming ventures.

Now, as I announced on my instagram earlier today , We will be celebrating a whole week of Masarrat Misbah makeup at From the Other side of Mirror from Monday onward .Yes ! You heard it , all 7 days of Masarrat makeup where There will be reviews of their products everyday (so you guys better keep an eye on them ) and who knows we might add up a look or two using MM Makeup !!

Celebrating Motherhood with The Body Shop - Event Report

Mothers are such a precious gift from God ,for which we can't be thankful enough . No matter how old we get , we would always need our mothers for pulling our day. Those selfless souls need to be celebrated everyday, Mother's Day is one day we celebrate with full zest !
This year on 8th May, which was mother's day, The body shop Pakistan decided to give an opportunity  to us bloggers to take our beloved mums to the outlet wand let them shop to their hearts content with a hefty voucher of 10 thousand Pkr. Since my mom lives back in our home town , so I had to call her and ask for some guidance as to what she wanted, yes I will share that too but lets have a look at the event first shall we ?

The Event Glimpses : 

For Lahore bloggers , the event venue was The body Shop Xinhua Mall outlet . All the beauty bloggers were there and some lucky ones came with their mums . It was a very peaceful enviornment and a super friendly staff was their to guide us . What I loved most about the event was that none of the staff members was clingy or trying to make us take anything specific . We were free to roam and swatch and test the testers ( does that even make sense?) . Well never mind that . I don't know about others but for me it was such a treat to meet and shop along with all the lovely ladies from the blogosphere. We chatted and gave each other opinions as per their experiences with different products which made choosing easier .
